DESCRIPTION:Attention Troy Township Seniors \n Troy Township has scheduled their Senior Trash Pick-up Days \n The Troy Township Trustees are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the 2026 Troy Senior Trash Pick-Up Days July 23 and 24! \nPlease have items outside home or garage on Wednesday\, July 22\, the evening before the pick-up. \nSign Up Is EASY-HERE’S HOW: First\, register and complete the trash pick-up intake with the Geauga County Department on Aging at 440-279-2130 by Thursday\, July 16 or earlier.  Please note\, to receive trash pick-up assistance\, you must be 60 years of age or older\, live in Troy Township and be registered with the Department on Aging for 2026. \n\nWhat Troy Twp. will take: Appliances\, refrigerators will be accepted\, without Freon\, accept car batteries\, lawn mowers\, and tires on or off the rim – 4 per load. Wood\, pipe or other large items should be Reduced to 6’ or less lengths.  Small items must be bagged\, boxed\, or bundled – no LOOSE materials will be collected.   Please note the following guidelines: To prevent possible bed bug transferal (or other pest)\, all mattresses\, couches and upholstered furniture MUST be wrapped in plastic and taped securely\, or they will not be taken.\n\n What Troy Twp. won’t take: construction/remodeling debris\, hazardous materials (household chemicals\, paint\, oil\, etc.)\, rocks\, yard waste\, or household garbage\, Residents are reminded that newspapers\, magazines and cardboard are recyclable. Separate them out for recycling at a later date. Residents are also asked not to bring items that can easily be disposed of in the resident’s weekly curbside pickup. \nThe Troy Township Road Crew and the Department on Aging cannot enter homes. All refuse items must be outside garages\, out buildings or in the driveway.  Please DO NOT leave items by curbside. \nLimit to 10 household items per home Please. \nFor more information and to register for the pick-up\, call the Geauga County Department on Aging weekdays from 8:00AM until 4:30PM at (440) 279-2130.
