DESCRIPTION:Attention Chardon Township Seniors \nChardon Township has scheduled their Senior Trash Pick-up Days \n The Chardon Township Trustees are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the 2026 Chardon Senior Trash Pick-Up Days May 26 & 27 \nPlease have items outside home or garage Monday\, May 25\, the evening before the pick-up. \nSign Up Is EASY-HERE’S HOW:  First\, register and complete the trash pick-up intake with the Geauga County Department on Aging at 440-279-2130 by May 19 or earlier.  Please note\, to receive trash pick-up assistance\, you must be 60 years of age or older\, live in Chardon Township and be registered with the Department on Aging for 2026. \n\nWhat Chardon Twp. will take: Appliances with Freon will be collected. Small items must be bagged\, boxed\, or bundled – no LOOSE materials will be collected. Tires off the rim\, limit 10 per household.  Lumber must be bundled and tied in lengths less than 10 feet\, and metal pipes shall be no longer than 10 feet. Please note the following guidelines:  To prevent possible bed bug transferal (or other pest)\, all mattresses\, couches and upholstered furniture MUST be wrapped in plastic and taped securely\, or they will not be taken.\n\n What Chardon Twp. won’t take: construction/remodeling debris\, brush\, leaves\, grass clippings\, or other yard waste\, Hazardous materials (household chemicals\, paint\, oil\, etc.)\, tires on rims\, food waste\, rocks\, bricks\, concrete items over 4 feet in length\, fuel or propane tanks. Residents are reminded that newspapers\, magazines and cardboard are recyclable. Separate them out for recycling at a later date. Residents are also asked not to bring items that can easily be disposed of in the resident’s weekly curbside pickup. \nThe Chardon Township Road Crew and the Department on Aging cannot enter homes. All refuse items must be outside by garages\, out buildings or in the driveway.  Please DO NOT leave items by curbside. \nLimit to 10 household items per home Please. \nFor more information and to register for the pick-up\, call the Geauga County Department on Aging weekdays from 8:00AM until 4:30PM at (440) 279-2130.
