2026 Chesterland Township Trash Pick-Up
Attention Chester Township Seniors
Chester has scheduled their Senior Trash Pick-up Days
The Chester Township Trustees and Road Department are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for 2026, with Trash Pick-Up dates during the week of Sept 14-18
Please have items outside home or garage on September 13 the evening before the pick-up.
Sign Up Is EASY-HERE’S HOW: First, register and complete the trash pick-up intake with the Geauga County Department on Aging at 440-279-2130 by September 7 or earlier. Please note, to receive trash pick-up assistance, you must be 60 years of age or older and live in Chester Township and be registered with the Department on Aging for 2026.
- What Chester Twp. will take: Tires (off the rim), refrigerators (with Freon removed), washers, dryers, televisions, stoves, dishwashers, old furniture, mattresses, and other unwanted items. Please note the following guidelines: To prevent possible bed bug transferal (or other pest), all mattresses, couches and upholstered furniture MUST be wrapped in plastic and taped securely, or they will not be taken.
What Chester Twp. won’t take: liquids, paint, or other hazardous materials, propane tanks, construction debris, batteries, rocks, yard waste or household garbage.
- Small items should be consolidated in strong boxes or bundled, and items kept dry (tarped) if possible. Residents are reminded that newspapers, magazines and cardboard are recyclable and can be brought to Chester Recycle Park. Residents are also asked not to bring items that can easily be disposed of in the resident’s weekly curbside pickup.
The Chester Township Road Crew and the Department on Aging cannot enter homes. All refuse items must be outside by garage, out building or in the driveway. Please DO NOT leave items by curbside.
Limit of 10 household items per home Please.
