The Village of South Russell has scheduled their Senior Trash Pick-up Days
The Village of South Russell Officials are joining forces with the Geauga Dept. on Aging for the 2026 South Russell Senior Trash Pick-Up Days
April 29(West of 306) & April 30(East of 306)
Please have items outside home or garage April 28, the evening before the pick-up.
Sign Up Is EASY • Here’s how: First register with the Geauga County Department on Aging at (440) 279-2130 by April 22, or earlier! Once registered, seniors can call to be placed on the trash pick-up roster. Please note, to receive trash pick-up assistance, you must be 60 years of age or older, live in the Village of South Russell and be registered with the Department on Aging for 2026. The Village of South Russell Service Department and the Department on Aging will pick up refuse from the seniors who need assistance and take it to Village dumpsters.
- What South Russell Will Accept: up to 4 tires off the rims, appliances and miscellaneous items. All loose materials should be consolidated in strong boxes and items should be kept dry (tarped) if possible. Please note the following guidelines: To prevent possible bed bug transferal (or other pest), All mattresses, couches and upholstered furniture MUST be wrapped in plastic and taped securely or they will not be taken.
- What South Russell Won’t Accept: liquids, paint, or other hazardous materials, construction debris, rocks, yard waste, or household garbage. Residents are reminded that newspapers, magazines and cardboard are recyclable. Separate them out for recycling at a later date. Residents are also asked not to put out items that can easily be disposed of in the resident’s weekly curbside pickup.
The South Russell Village Service Department and the Department on Aging cannot enter homes. All refuse items must be outside by garages, out buildings or in the driveway. Please DO NOT leave items by curbside.
